Example
The text Hello, world in this style:

Double underline
H̳e̳l̳l̳o̳,̳ w̳o̳r̳l̳d̳
How the underline is made
Like strikethrough, it uses combining marks. After each letter the generator adds a small low line, and your device draws it beneath the letter. The words are still ordinary letters underneath.
Single and double
The single underline is one line under each letter. The double underline stacks two. Both read as underlined text, though a double line looks heavier and can feel like a headline.
Letters with tails
The line sits under the letter and can touch the tails of g, j, p, q and y. That is how most fonts handle it. If the result looks messy, try the double underline or a bigger size.
Looks like a link
Underlined text is how links look on the web, so people may try to click it. In a bio or a message, use it for emphasis sparingly.
Questions
Why is my underline broken between letters?
Each underline is a separate mark. Some fonts leave tiny gaps between them, and others join them up.
Does it work in a username?
Usually not. Most username fields reject combining marks, so check by pasting a test.
Is there a way to underline whole words as one line?
Not with plain text characters. A normal underline needs formatting, such as the underline button in a word processor.
